It’s 2 in the morning, and I’m sitting up on the computer and watching the Knife Show on the Cutlery Corner. Spewing out a near-constant stream of banter is none other than Mr. Tom Odell, formerly of Shop-at-Home, where I first came across the Knife Collector’s show. Suddenly, I’m back in college, worrying about getting problem sets done instead of getting the house cleaned up. There’s something disturbingly comforting about having the sound of Mr. Odell’s voice in the background. Good times…
(Add to that the fact that former pro wrestler Mankind was on Conan O’Brian the other night, as his real self – Terry something-or-other – schlepping his new book. My roommate was a huge wrestling fan. Flashbacks all around.)

I’m still a wrestling fan, though probably not as much as I was back then, because the quality has really taken a dive in the last few years, since WWE has no real competition anymore. However, I’m still more than enough of a fan to tell you Mankind’s real name is Mick Foley. You may have been thinking of Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea. (Yep, I know waaaaay too much about stuff like this.)
Ah, the Knife Collector’s Show. The only thing left to make this flashback complete is an infomercial for the amazing Sobakawa pillow! With all-natural buckwheat husks! Good times, indeed.
