Late nite in London

I’m in London this week for business, and Holland next week.  It’s a quarter until 1 in the morning.  I have always loved televised sports in England – in the past twenty-four hours, I’ve been able to watch cricket (both one-day and full test matches), football (soccer), car racing, BMX bike racing, and darts.  My all-time record, though – even bettern than darts – was the indoor lawn bowling tournament.

That record is being challenged tonight.  I’m currently watching the televised commentary of an online poker tournament.  No visible players, just a computer representation of a poker table and two guys utterly struggling to come up with sensible dialogue.  It’s ridiculous, the amount of rubbish they’ve been able to babble on about.  Ghastly.  And yet, somehow, riveting.
