Maybe Waylon did teach the good ol’ boys a thing or two…

Listening to last.fm today, I pulled up a song from John Pizzarelli. From his bio page:

In addition to being a bandleader, radio personality and solo performer, John has been a special guest on recordings for major pop names such as James Taylor, Natalie Cole, Tom Wopat,…

waitaminnit. Tom Wopat. Tom Wopat?

I grew up on the Dukes of Hazzard, sure, but I wouldn’t have said Tom Wopat was a major pop name. Certainly not up there with James Taylor and Natalie Cole.

According to Wikipedia, he in fact has started a musical career. I wouldn’t say that makes him a “major” name, maybe like a D-list version of Hasslehoff. This surely is one of the four signs of the Apocalypse.
UPDATE: Apparently, he’s not half bad. That’s his voice you hear. Thanks, Ernie!

And we’re back!

Hey, folks. Sorry for disappearing like that – hardware fault on our server and a failed database copy to a new server. It’s all fixed now.

I’d love to regale you with tales of cooking, I really would. Or how I’ve applied social networking concepts to my teams at work and have come up with interesting statistics. Unfortunately, none of that has happened.

What has happened is a lot of business travel – two weeks in London, one week in California – with a broken foot (apparently, I forgot how to walk down the stairs). And me catching one nasty cold in the process, that has knocked me on my back for the last five days. Oh, and work has gotten exponentially busier in that time. So, my news is all either deeply work-related or available to see on Christine’s blog.

But, rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated.
